Valentine Hearts Alphabet Match

Valentine Turtles Alphabet Match Freebies (2)

I know… It’s been a long time. A VERY long time. I planned to take a couple of weeks off from blogging in December, but I encountered some health probs mid-December and I had no choice but to give up some activities in order to get the rest I needed. One of those activities was doing “school work” with my little man,,.

I won’t go into too much detail about what happened, but I was experiencing MS-like symptoms where my body would go numb and tingly. I also experienced lots of dizzy spells and was in hospital for a few days… Not fun – not fun at all 🙁 I’ve been taking it easy because the thought of having MS (Multiple Sclerosis) scared me like nothing I’ve encountered thus far. I’ve had heaps of bloods, scans and other tests done. My neurologist finally gave me the “all clear” a few weeks ago, saying: “It’s not MS (thank you GOD!!). But what is it? Hmm… I don’t know!” So, I did what everyone does, and Googled my symptoms! I discovered that stress and lack of sleep can cause our bodies to experience neurological probs – such as the ones I had and continue to have. So, peeps! Don’t over-do it! I’m talking to myself here too 🙂 Take it easy, rest up and enjoy life and the company of your loved ones!

Well, now that’s been sorted, it’s time to share what we did this week!

We were matching lower and upper case letters. This was a good assessment for my little man! We did a hands-on activity first:

And then completed a worksheet too. Lots of fun for both of us 🙂

We have started doing our Letter of the Week work again, and I will be back in a week or so with those posts!

Happy your feeling better. Yes, it’s a blessing MS was ruled out. Take your time because your health is top priority. Thanks for letting us know. Take care. 🙂

  2. Hey, I like to pop in and see what cool things you and your family have been up to – I thought maybe – oh she’s just been so busy. It is scary when you don’t know what it wrong with your body. I also had some scary symptoms (numb left arm, sharp chest pain), but it turns out it’s just stress as well. We put so much pressure on ourselves. I agrees with what you say – we need to just calm down and make ourselves rest!!! LOL, it’s hard!! but family is first.

GUESS WHAT?! I’m taking a year off next year (I am having a baby girl) – Due in July =D

Eeeek!!! How exciting!!! A baby girl! Oh wow! That is going to be lots of fun – AND you get to stay home 😛

Stress and anxiety are the worst to deal with – I guess what it really comes down to is having your priorities right 🙂

I’m glad you’re getting the rest you need. Thank you for your honesty. As teachers, it is so easy to over-do it. You have no idea how timely your words from this post are for me and my peers here at Petree Elementary School (Winston Salem, North Carolina). God bless and keep you.

Hi Lavinia. Sorry to hear you aren’t doing so well. I can appreciate what you said about what stress can do to your body. So I do encourage you to rest up and take it easy (though it is hard to do when there are so many things to do and ideas to create!;)
I saw this and downloaded it and my kids have a blast with it. Thank you. Thank you for your creativity and more importantly, sharing your work and ideas. I know Filip has a lot of fun whilst he is learning.
But God is good and He will take care of you. Glad it’s not MS and I pray for your speedy recovery.
